Currently we have all the specialty markets that cover General, Excess, Pollution, Professional Liability, Commercial Auto/Motor Cargo, Worker Compensation, Builders Risk/Course of Construction, Bid Bond, Performance Bond, Payment Bond and all Personal Lines.

It will depend on the project or job requirements. For small projects we can get coverage same day. For other risks, it may take a few days to insure the project requirements are met and the carrier produces the correct documentation required to begin the project.

If the project value is under $750,000, we only need a 1 page application completed. The surety will base their approval on credit. A soft credit check will be performed prior to approval. Once approved, we have the power attorney for all our represented sureties to produce all documentation in house.

Nobody wants to pay for more insurance than needed. Every carrier has different risks they like and don’t like. Therefore, each policy or quote will be different. Quite often the lower cost policy may have exclusions you need to understand. The other cause is that a broker may not have specific markets that specialize in Construction. The quote you get back may be high since the carrier isn’t a specialty carrier.
